Many big movies in Hollywood are based on historical events, meaning factual-based mistakes are often made, especially with costumes. Here're 21 movie mistakes that might have snuck under your radar.

1. The Ten Commandments

Nefertiti Anne Baxter played in this Hollywood epic has become iconic, and her aqua-blue silk dress is a big part of it. However, during the time the film was set, there in ancient Egypt was no known natural dye that can produce that particular shade of blue.

2. Pretty Woman

We all loved Vivian played by Julia Roberts in Pretty Women. But most audiences ignored one big mistake about her. That is when filming her first kiss with Edward, her white nightgown is long in the beginning while by the end it becomes short.

3. Forrest Gump

When Lt. Dan and Forrest first try catching shrimp on the new boat, they catch a bunch of junk, including a Mello Yello can, which hadn’t been invented at that time.

4. Titanic

In a scene, Jack tells Rose that he has used to go ice-fishing at Wissota Lake with his father. However, if you look up at a map, you can see that the lake was formed in 1917. The sinking of Titanic happened in 1912, so maybe Jack is a time traveler.

5. The Mummy

At the beginning of the movie, as Anck Su Namun walks towards the camera, you can see two circular plasters under her body paint. It is used to prevent her from becoming too exposed.

This movie is set in 1790 around when the book was written rather than published, but Lizzie here is reading a published book.
